Who we are

Yoganauta was born from a common will of people who met to embark on a journey.

The yogic path  involves physical rooting to walk in full awareness of who we are, where we come from and where we want to go. This allows us to return to an authentic space where the heart is our main minister and the mind  restores its true role.

The yogic practice considers the body in its entirety, body - mind - spirit and it is for this reason that meditative practices are also an integral part of the path. Meditation develops conscious attention and therefore allows you to focus on the present moment, the moment in which you generate yourself.

There is often talk of " control " in these practices ; control the breath to calm the mind or control the body to calm or change the mind.

We prefer to talk about OBSERVE, FEEL, what moves within us and makes us move, the change if necessary will happen spontaneously when awareness emerges.

Each Asana is a symbol, an ancient code and as such, carries with it a vibration and what we do is simply enter  into that form and that vibration to experience "being" and therefore listening to everything that happens inside. 'within that vibration, code, symbol, to have an experience, which is only physical, mental, emotional and/or transformative.

SO WHO ARE WE?

Simply researchers, observers who live experiences.

Professional dancer for 15 years, I approached Yoga in 2005 in Amsterdam experimenting with various methods including Kundalini, Hatha, Iyengar and Vinyasa.

In the beginning, the practice was just a way to relax the muscles and develop the necessary concentration  to prepare myself for the various performances, only by practicing more assiduously, this path has begun to change in importance.

Asanas were no longer simply physical exercises but a way to listen to me, observe the movements of my mind, accept what we see as limits and transform them.

Every Yoga practice leads to a profound change and for me it happened when I started practicing Pattabhi Jois' Ashtanga Yoga.

In 2013 I attended the Teacher Training with It's Yoga in Florence of the First Modified Series  by Larry Shultz, recognized International Yoga Alliance US.

Since then my education has been continuously expanding to try to follow as much as possible the tradition that Pattabhi Jois handed down to her son Manju and to other teachers I'm meeting along my path such as Louise Ellis, Nancy Gilgoff, Giuliano Vecchié, Chuk Miller, Susanna Finocchi and my current teacher, Gabriele Severini.

Tradition, especially in this historical moment where everything mixes and changes, I believe has a very profound value but I also believe that Yoga means "OPENING" and as a teacher I try to give simple and strong anchor points by meeting each student to make this practice accessible to various needs.

Ana Cervigni Ashtanga yoga and acrobatic artistic yoga teacher

Ashtanga yoga teacher, artistic and  acrobatic yoga

I was born in Cordoba, Argentina and lived there until 2018.

In 2012 I had my first encounter with yoga. At that time I had the prejudice that yoga was not active enough for me. One day I went to the wrong room and instead of doing my artistic yoga class I did one of Hatha yoga. I knew at that moment that this was what I was looking for.

In 2015 I started the journey to become a yoga teacher at the Umbral Yoga y Masajes school in Cordoba, which I finished in 2017. Immediately after that I started giving lessons.

My curiosity led me to practice different styles of yoga and other practices (Ashtanga yoga, Hatha yoga, Acroyoga, Artistic yoga, Iyengar yoga, Aerial acrobatics, Ground acrobatics, Contemporary dance, Vipassana meditation), doing different courses, workshops and formations.

Even though I didn't delve into each practice individually, they gave me tools that I still use to teach today. The only one of the practices that has accompanied me to this day since I started in 2015 is Ashtanga.

In mid-2018 I decided to leave Cordoba, and after a year of traveling I settled in the city of Rome, where I started teaching in 2021.

In the year 2022 I did the 200 hour Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga YTT at Alejandro Chiarella's Ashtanga Baires school in Buenos Aires, so I could start teaching Ashtanga.

Yoga for me has marked a very important change, a door to self-knowledge, which day by day makes me discover more about myself and about life. I hope in some way that I can share my experience along this path that has given me so much.
